Organizations are rapidly adopting agentic AI. In a recent survey conducted by Foundry, more than half report active AI implementations, while the rest are piloting or evaluating initiatives. AI agents typically operate autonomously across SaaS environments and interact with multiple systems at once. If granted broad permissions, an AI agent may update data across several systems simultaneously, allowing errors to propagate before teams have a chance to intervene.

These characteristics heighten the risks of inadvertent data exposure or loss. Evidence of AI-related risk is already emerging, according to IBM research, which found that 13% of organizations have already reported breaches involving AI models or applications.
